Abstract

PhotoCD is a novel electronic format which uses digital technology to scan colour or monochrome photographs, store them on compact discs, and then display them as highquality images on a TV or on a monitor screen. A technical description of this technology can be found in Beisner (1993), Bowers (1994) and Chen (1993). Supporting software is available to access and manipulate the images for use in interactive learning.
